
Prithvi Shaw, who is representing Maharashtra this year, found himself in a heated confrontation with his former teammates on Tuesday. The former Mumbai opener rushed towards Musheer Khan after completing his ton.
According to reports, Shaw tried to confront Mumbai cricketer Musheer after being continuously sledged on day one of the friendly match at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Gahunje, Pune.
Ankit Bhawne, who is the captain of Maharashtra said: “It’s a practice match. They are all former teammates. Such things happen. It’s all okay now and there is no issue.”
The incident took place when Shaw was caught by Irfan Umair off the bowling of Musheer and the bowler allegedly said, ‘Thank you’ to the batter in the send-off. It was seen in the video footage that an umpire intervened and took the batter away from the Mumbai players.
Shaw played a brilliant innings of 181 runs off 220 balls, including 21 fours and three sixes. He stitched a partnership of 305 runs with his fellow opener Arshin Kulkarni which helped Maharashtra to put on a big score. Kulkarni also played well for his 186 from 140 balls which included 33 fours and four sixes.
