Yashasvi Jaiswal is available for Mumbai’s next Ranji Trophy match against Rajasthan, a Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) official has confirmed. The match will be played in Jaipur from November 1.

At the end of the last season, Jaiswal had written a letter to the MCA, informing that he was contemplating relocating to Goa. The opener played the Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir last term and during its course, he reportedly had a fallout with a Mumbai stalwart. It was thought to be the reason behind his intention to shift base. Jaiswal, who has played all his cricket for Mumbai since his U-19 days, however, didn’t apply for a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

Jaiswal was part of India’s ODI squad that played a three-match series in Australia. He, though, didn’t get a game, and he isn’t in India’s T20I side.

It is believed that the southpaw made a U-turn and decided to continue with Mumbai after having a conversation with a Mumbai and India icon. The cricketer has a (elder) brotherly influence on the opener. The Rajasthan game will mark his return in Mumbai colours.

Jaiswal to sponsor kit

Meanwhile, it is learnt that Jaiswal will sponsor the kit for the finals of Harris Shield and Giles Shield — Mumbai’s iconic inter-school tournaments. He will also sponsor the best batsman award to Mumbai School Sports Association (MSSA) for the tournaments.
