The ICC has announced the match official appointments for the upcoming Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 semi-finals, with both blockbuster clashes set to take place this week.
In Guwahati, where England face South Africa on Wednesday (29 October), Eloise Sheridan and Jacqueline Williams, both from the Emirates ICC International Panel of Umpires, will take charge on the field. Sheridan previously officiated when England hammered South Africa by 10 wickets in the league stage, and was also involved in South Africa’s win over Pakistan. Williams oversaw victories for South Africa against India and Bangladesh, and also officiated England’s win versus India and their loss to Australia. Vrinda Rathi will act as the TV umpire, Claire Polosak as fourth umpire, and GS Lakshmi will serve as the match referee.
Attention will then shift to Navi Mumbai on Thursday (30 October), where hosts India lock horns with defending champions Australia. South Africa’s Lauren Agenbag and England’s Sue Redfern will be the on-field umpires. Agenbag has already stood in three of India’s group-stage fixtures, while Redfern was part of the umpiring team during the high-scoring encounter between the two sides earlier in the tournament, when Alyssa Healy’s stunning hundred powered Australia to a record chase. Kim Cotton is named as third umpire, Nimali Perera as fourth umpire, and Michell Pereira will oversee proceedings as match referee.
With places in the World Cup final up for grabs, the stage is now fully set, both on and off the field, for two thrilling semi-final showdowns.
