After India’s historic ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 victory over South Africa in Navi Mumbai, Radha Yadav and Richa Ghosh shared their emotions.

Both players spoke about the mindset that helped India stay calm and focused in the high-pressure final at the DY Patil Stadium.

Radha Yadav also talked about changes in the team combination, “Look, we don’t go with a certain combination. I think it’s hard to set the team’s combination. That’s why certain players don’t go. So, we are always ready to contribute to the team… Whatever is in front of you, whatever is coming, take it with gratitude. Whatever it is, whether it’s good or bad, it happens. It’s a part of the game,” she said after the match.

She also highlighted that batting and bowling can go wrong, but fielding is a department that is in your control. “Fielding is a department that wins the match. Bowling can go wrong. Batting can go wrong. You will get out. There will be four or five fours in bowling. It’s not in your control. But in fielding, you can give an extra push.”

Radha took a good catch to dismiss Sinalo Jafta. She also bowled for five overs and conceded 45 runs.

Meanwhile, Richa reflected on the pressure that she felt in the final, “Obviously, I felt the pressure because it was the final. It was a big thing. But I tried to stay calm and stay within myself. I didn’t think much about what was going on outside. I think that helped me a lot. And because of that, I think my batting was also good.”

She also highlighted the contribution of the coach Amol Muzumdar in motivating her and the whole team. “I think he kept everyone together. And I think he had a lot of positive vibe. I think that was all the truth. He helped everyone a lot. Especially me, he always backed me,” she said after the match.

Richa added 34 runs in the slog overs which helped India to post a strong total of 298 runs.
