Pratika Rawal was one of the architects of India’s successful campaign in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. Opening the innings in the group-stage matches, Pratika finished the tournament as the fourth-highest run-scorer. The 25-year-old was also India’s second-highest run-getter, behind Smriti Mandhana, scoring 308 runs from seven matches at an average of 51.33.

After the match, Rawal could not hold back her emotions and said, while sitting in a wheelchair: “I can’t express enough. There are no words. It’s not going to come out of my mouth. This flag on my shoulder means a lot to me. And, you know, being here with my team, it’s just surreal. Definitely. Injuries are part and parcel of the game. I’m very happy that I was a part of this team, this winning team. I just love this team. I can’t express my feelings towards this team. I’m very happy that we actually made it. We’re the first team to have won the World Cup in so long, and the whole of India deserves this.”

India won the final by 52 runs against South Africa to claim their maiden World Cup title. Pratika was present on the dais when the team celebrated with the trophy, but she did not receive a winner’s medal.

As per the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) rules and regulations, the winner’s medal is presented to the 15 members of the squad. Rawal had been officially ruled out of the squad due to injury, which prompted India to bring in Shafali Verma as a replacement ahead of the semi-final against Australia.
