Deepti played a decisive role in India’s win in the final, scoring a vital 58 and picking up a five-wicket haul, becoming the first Indian—across men’s and women’s cricket—to score a fifty and claim five wickets in a World Cup knockout match.
Her consistency throughout the tournament was unmatched. Deepti finished as the highest wicket-taker with 22 wickets in nine matches, troubling batters with her accuracy, flight, and discipline.
