The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 mega auction is set to take place on November 27 in Delhi. A total of 277 players have signed up for the auction, where teams can pick only 73 players. Out of these, 23 spots are reserved for overseas players.
The first group of players to come under the hammer will be the marquee set. These are the most popular and strongest names in the auction. From India, allrounder Deepti Sharma and fast bowler Renuka Singh are the two Indian names in this top group. Other valuable players in this set include Sophie Devine, Sophie Ecclestone, Alyssa Healy, Meg Lanning, Amelia Kerr, and Laura Wolvaardt. All players have been kept at a base price of INR 50 lakh, but Renuka (INR 40 lakh) and Wolvaardt (INR 30 lakh) have been placed at lower base prices.
Players from different countries will also be seen in the auction. There are 23 players from Australia, 22 from England, 13 from New Zealand, and 11 from South Africa. Interestingly, Tahlia McGrath and Sophie Molineux are not among the 23 registered players from Australia. Sri Lanka (Chamari Athapaththu, Harshitha Samarawickrama and Inoka Ranaweera) and Bangladesh (Marufa Akter, Shorna Akter and Rabeya Khan) have also registered three players each. There are even players from Thailand (Thipatcha Putthawong), USA (Tara Norris) and UAE (Esha Oza) in the auction, which shows the global reach of the WPL.
India’s Harleen Deol has listed herself at INR 50 lakh among the allrounders. Bowlers like Saika Ishaque, Asha Sobhana and Priya Mishra are listed at a base price of INR 30 lakh.
When it comes to money available, UP Warriorz (INR 14.50 crore) have the biggest purse. Gujarat Giants (INR 9 crore) are next, while RCB (INR 6.15 crore), MI (INR 5.75 crore), and Delhi Capitals (INR 5.70 crore) have less funds than the others.
