With Sachin, it is always about passion and attention to detail – exactly the principles we have tried to follow in organising the Trailblazers Conclave for the last three years. As Sachin’s biographer, it was only natural that I would want to associate with the brand – to partner in celebrating Sachin’s legacy and to support an effort that has grown from being just an athleisure business to a legacy project memorialising some of Sachin’s finest knocks.
Take the Sydney 241 in January 2004, for example. I have always felt it was Sachin’s best. For me, it stands out for the patience and resilience that we rarely see in modern-day Test-match batting. The Ten X You Nox Edition memorialises this innings and perpetuates his legacy in much the same way we have tried to do at Trailblazers.
From the time I first spoke to Karthik Gurumurthy, co-founder with Sachin, things moved at a rapid pace. It felt as if we already knew we wanted to collaborate, and all we needed to do was iron out the details. In fact, from the initial conversation to signing the partnership, the entire process took no more than a week.
