The eagerly awaited WPL 2026 Auction had its share of thrills and spills. Here at RevSportz, we list out the top five auction buys in terms of value for money.
Sophie Ecclestone – The UP Warriorz would be pleased to pick up Ecclestone for 85 lakhs. The left-arm spinner remains one of the best limited-overs bowlers in the cricketing landscape. She has 36 wickets in the WPL at an average of 18.38. Ecclestone has a very repeatable action, which contributes to her excellent control, and her height allows her to generate natural flight.
She gave a glimpse of her class and quality in the humdinger against RCB in the 2025 season. In that game, she not only bowled a superb Super Over but also showcased her hitting prowess against Renuka Singh, thwacking the pacer to all corners during the UP Warriorz’s innings.
Grace Harris – The batting all-rounder’s services were secured by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for 75 lakh. She could turn out to be another value for money pick, as Harris has the ability to play impactful knocks alongside contributing a few overs of off-spin. Harris has a strike rate of 155.52 in T20Is, while her strike rate in the WPL stands at 140. If she gets to play on good batting tracks, she could cause mayhem in opposition ranks.
Shabnim Ismail – Mumbai Indians have once again availed themselves of the services of Shabnim Ismail, at a price of 60 lakh. Although Ismail has retired from international cricket, she can still bowl with a burst of pace and extract a hint of movement. In the ongoing WBBL, she has been in fine form, with highlights including her spells against the Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Sixers. She has also taken 20 wickets in the WPL.
Kranti Gaud – Having a core of Indian players is always one of the targets for any WPL franchise. In that respect, UPW would be happy to get back the services of Kranti for 50 lakh. The pace bowler, who took nine wickets in India’s golden run in the 50-over World Cup, generates consistent swing and bowls at a fair clip, while also being a useful batter down the order. Although her WPL record isn’t exactly impressive, she can be a prudent acquisition, provided she is used as a wicket-taking option.
Nadine de Klerk – The hard-hitting all-rounder hogged headlines at the World Cup with her power-hitting, steering South Africa to memorable victories over India and Bangladesh. She is also adept at employing variations, which have served her well against both Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder in the ongoing WBBL. In summary, RCB would consider her services value for money at 65 lakhs.
