At RevSportz, we cover sports — sports in their entirety. There are many platforms in the country that masquerade as sports news platforms, but do not cover Olympic or Paralympic sports. Perhaps they don’t feel the need to. Perhaps they feel there isn’t adequate money beyond cricket to justify the return on investment. Whatever the case may be, they aren’t really sports news platforms. They are cricket news platforms, or more aptly, platforms that only cover spectacles.
But that’s their call. And maybe that’s what prompted us to make a difference. The lacuna was glaring and the opportunity immense. Awards do feel good. They are a vindication of the work done and a just reward for the hard yards. They are proof that the corporates who backed our vision did the right thing, and evidence that the team of 50-plus at RevSportz is on the right track to making a difference to the Indian sports ecosystem.
In four years of existence, RevSportz has now been recognised by a jury that includes achievers from all walks of life. We have brand support from India’s leading corporates and support from the country’s best athletes. The multiple awards we won are a vindication of what we stand for and what the future holds.
2026 is an unprecedented sports year. We have the men’s and women’s T20 World Cups, the FIFA World Cup, the Hockey World Cup, the Commonwealth Games, and the Asian Games. Quality on-ground coverage is the way forward. Every sofa is a stadium, and the story goes beyond what we see on television. The fan and his or her emotions are as much a part of the story, and that’s where you need to make a difference.
It was the fan who was shamed in Kolkata, and it is the fan who needs to be at the centre of the coverage. We also need to be with India’s athletes wherever they are. So when Sumit Antil wins in Paris, he shouldn’t feel that the media was there for Neeraj Chopra but not for him. That’s where we let ourselves down. When Satwik and Chirag win a badminton title, they shouldn’t feel that had they played cricket, there would have been 50 journalists covering them on the ground.
We want to make a difference and be the change that is needed. The many awards are evidence that we are on the right track. With a new studio almost ready, multiple new projects in the pipeline, and a fantastic conclave with the best athletes all set for March, we at RevSportz have much to look forward to.
And on this journey, you need to be with us. Be critical, for sure, but engage. Civil engagement and disagreement are the way forward. Together, we will make a difference to the ecosystem and, in the process, win many more awards.
While I won some personally, none of them belong to me. There is no “me” in RevSportz. It is always “we”. And we win and lose together.
