The upcoming IPL 2023 match between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans is set to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Delhi Capitals’ Assistant Coach Pravin Amre expressed his team’s determination to recover from their recent losses and perform well in the upcoming match.
He acknowledged that the IPL is an unpredictable tournament and any team can turn things around after a poor start. Amre emphasized the importance of giving their best effort in every game, especially against challenging opponents like Gujarat.
Speaking ahead of the match, Amre said, “Many teams have made comebacks after a poor start in the IPL. That’s the beauty of this tournament. Any team can beat any side. That’s why we have to give our best. It’s going to be challenging for us to play against Gujarat. But you never know, what can happen in the IPL.”

The DC assistant coach further added, “We have to stay in the present and focus on taking the two points in our next game. Our middle order has to bat better and we’ll look to improve our batting in the death overs.”
Amre also highlighted the need for improvement in the middle order batting and the team’s performance in the death overs. He mentioned that Vice-Captain Axar Patel has the potential to play a crucial role as a finisher in the batting order. Amre expressed confidence in Patel’s ability to hit big shots, considering that he has hit the most sixes for the team this season. He further stated that they might hold him back in some situations to allow him to play the finisher’s role later in the innings.
“Axar has the ability to finish the game. We need someone to play the finisher’s role. He has struck the highest number of sixes for us this season. Therefore, we have to hold him back sometimes, so that he can play the finisher’s role in the batting order,” Amre quipped.
