Mohsin Naqvi, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chair, will be meeting the members of the Pakistan T20 World Cup squad in Lahore on Sunday, it is learnt. RevSportz understands that the meeting is about taking the players into confidence that the PCB would follow the Pakistan government’s instructions with regards to participating at the upcoming ICC event starting on February 7.
This comes on the heels of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup announcement. Asked about why did the selection committee go ahead with naming the 15-member squad when the team’s participation is uncertain, senior selector Aaqib Javed said: “Our job is to announce the squad. The decision (to participate or not) is with the PCB.”

Earlier, on Saturday, after the ICC formally announced that Scotland would replace Bangladesh at the T20 World Cup, Naqvi told reporters: “Our stance (regarding World Cup participation) will be what the government of Pakistan instructs me. The Prime Minister is not in Pakistan right now. When he returns, I will be able to give you our final decision. It’s the government’s decision. We obey them, not the ICC.”
Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad: Salman Ali Agha (captain), Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay (wk), Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan (wk) and Usman Tariq.
