Australia’s 15-month reign at the summit of the Men’s Test Rankings came to an end, as India ascended the throne in the latest ICC rankings update.
According to the update, Australia slipped to the second position with 122 points, while India secured the top spot with 123 points. Incidentally, India had won the recent four-match Test series against Australia 2-1.
This annual update of the rankings considers all completed series since May 2020, with series concluded prior to May 2022 given a weightage of 50%, while all subsequent series are weighed at 100%.
The change in rankings adds to the excitement leading up to the World Test Championship final to be played at Oval, where these two teams will clash against each other.
