If I was the Indian selector, I would pick Jaiswal for World Cup – Raina

Suresh Raina, the former India and CSK player, expressed his admiration for Yashasvi Jaiswal, after the Rajasthan Royals opener cracked a stunning unbeaten 98  against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), at Eden Gardens, on May 11. Raina observed that if he were the Indian selector, he would pick the young Jaiswal in the Indian team for the World Cup.

Jaiswal, who composed the fastest IPL fifty in the game versus Knight Riders, has scored 575 runs in 12 innings, including one century and four fifties, and is currently second in the list of top run-scorers in IPL 2023. Incidentally, he smashed his first-ever IPL century earlier in the season.

“If I was the Indian selector, I would have signed him today itself for the World Cup, because he is in a very fresh mind. He reminds me of Virender Sehwag. I’m sure Rohit Sharma will be watching this, because he will be searching for batters like him for the World Cup,” Raina said on JioCinema.
