The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced a few changes to the match timings for the Asia Cup 2025, which will be held in the UAE from September 9 to 28. Most matches in the tournament will now begin in the evening at 6:30 PM Gulf Standard Time (8:00 PM IST). The only exception will be the game between UAE and Oman, scheduled for September 15 in Abu Dhabi, which will start earlier at 4:00 PM GST (5:30 PM IST).
The decision to move matches to the evening was taken to avoid the intense daytime heat in the Gulf region. It will also ensure that fans attending the games can enjoy cricket in cooler conditions. For television audiences across India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and other South Asian countries, the evening schedule means matches will now be played in primetime slots.
