
Mohun Bagan Super Giant and FC Goa, the two Indian clubs in the AFC Champions League Two 2025-26 group stage, now know who they will face after the draw took place at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Friday, August 15, 2025.
Mohun Bagan, winners of the 2024-25 Indian Super League Shield, have been put in Group C along with Sepahan SC from Iran, Al Hussein SC from Jordan, and Ahal FC from Turkmenistan.
FC Goa, who lifted the 2025 Kalinga Super Cup, are in Group D with Al Nassr Club of Saudi Arabia, Al Zawra’a SC of Iraq, and FC Istiklol of Tajikistan. The Goan side entered the group stage after beating Al Seeb Club from Oman 2-1 in the preliminary round on Wednesday.
This season’s tournament has 32 teams — 16 from the West Zone and 16 from the East Zone — split into eight groups of four. The top two teams in each group will move on to the Round of 16.
For Mohun Bagan, this will be their eighth time playing in Asia’s second-level men’s club event, which changed its name from the AFC Cup to the AFC Champions League Two last season. FC Goa will be competing at this level for the second time, having first appeared in the 2021 AFC Champions League.
Mohun Bagan’s opponents have strong records: Sepahan SC finished second in the 2024-25 Persian Gulf Pro League, Al Hussein SC were champions of the 2024-25 Jordanian Pro League, and Ahal FC came second in Turkmenistan’s 2024 Ýokary Liga.
FC Goa’s challengers include Al Nassr, who finished third in the 2024-25 Saudi Pro League; Al Zawra’a SC, runners-up in Iraq’s 2024-25 Stars League; and FC Istiklol, champions of the 2024 Tajikistan Higher League.
Both Mohun Bagan and FC Goa will play each team in their group twice — once at home and once away — in a double round-robin format. The group stage runs from September 16 to December 24. The Round of 16 will be played between February 10 and 19, 2026. Quarter-finals are set for March 3-12, semi-finals from April 7-15, and the final on May 16, 2026.
