Travis Head, the Australian middle-order-bat, once again played with positive intent in the first Ashes a Edgbaston, as he essayed a quick-fire fifty.
The left-handed batter was pleased with his approach, as he and opener Usman Khawaja steered Australia to safe waters after they had found themselves in early trouble at 67 for 3. The southpaw was particularly severe on England off-spinner Moeen Ali, cracking him for a slew of boundaries.
“I’m really pleased with my start. I approached the innings with a more positive mindset. I’ve always believed that if there’s an opportunity to score, I want to make the most of it. Today, I felt I was able to capitalize on those chances while also facing some challenging deliveries. It’s a great challenge,” commented Travis Head during his interview with Sky Sports at the conclusion of Day 2.
