Earlier, on June 6, when the updated entry list for the NC Classic was published on social media, Martin Konečný of the Czech Republic was named as the replacement for Japan’s Genki Dean.
The replacement of Peters marks the third change in the lineup since the full roster was initially announced after the event’s new date was confirmed.
The inaugural NC Classic was originally scheduled for May 24 at the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Panchkula, Haryana – the home state of Neeraj Chopra. However, the venue did not meet the standard requirements for a World Athletics A category meet. As a result, the event was shifted to Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. Due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the meet was then postponed, with a new date set for July 5.
The javelin meet, organised by the double-Olympic medallist, in collaboration with JSW Sports and the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), will feature a world-class field comprising seven international throwers and five Indian athletes, led by Neeraj himself.
Participating Athletes:

Neeraj Chopra – PB: 90.23m
