Former Zimbabwe captain and England head coach, Andy Flower, has joined Australia as a consultant for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) Final against India. He is also expected to contribute in the later stages of the Ashes series following the WTC final.
Flower, renowned as one of the finest wicketkeeper-batters in the game, has achieved significant success as a coach worldwide. During his tenure, England secured victories in three Ashes series, including the notable 2010/11 triumph in Australia, and also clinched the T20 World Cup in 2010.
Australia’s decision to enlist Flower’s services follows the precedent set when the team last competed in an Ashes series in England, with the inclusion of accomplished Test captains Steve Waugh and Ricky Ponting. With Flower currently in the UK, he oversaw the team’s preparations at the practice camp held at the Oval on June 5.
