Anil Kumble Expresses Dismay at Treatment of Wrestlers

Anil Kumble, a former captain and coach of the Indian cricket team, has expressed his concern over the recent events that unfolded during the wrestlers’ protest in New Delhi.

In a tweet, Kumble expressed his dismay and called for a peaceful resolution through dialogue. “Dismayed to hear about what transpired on the 28th of May with our wrestlers being manhandled,” he wrote on Twitter. “Anything can be resolved through proper dialogue. Hoping for a resolution at the earliest.”

The wrestlers had attempted to march to the newly inaugurated Parliament building on that day. However, they were met with opposition from the Delhi Police, who detained the likes of Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat, Sangita Phogat and Sakshi Malik. The wrestlers resisted the police, leading to a distressing situation where they were forcibly dragged into vans.
