Arshdeep Singh had an excellent time with the ball, taking three wickets in his comeback match, in the third T20I of the ongoing five-match series against Australia, at the Bellerive Oval, in Hobart. He was adjudged the Player of the Match for this performance. In the post-match presentation ceremony, he said that he enjoys bowling against aggressive batters. And bowling alongside Jasprit Bumrah gives him more opportunities to take wickets.

“Yes (enjoying bowling to aggressive batters), definitely,” he told. “When someone is coming hard at you, there’s always a chance to pick up wickets. And when someone like Bumrah is bowling from the other end, batters often take more risks against me, that gives me wicket-taking opportunities.

“I just try to enjoy my bowling and keep my plans simple. No matter the situation – powerplay or death – I just focus on execution and stick to what I’ve practised,” he added.

Arshdeep provided the first breakthrough when he dismissed the dangerous Travis Head, who was caught by Indian captain, Suryakumar Yadav at mid-off. The left-arm pacer struck again on the third ball of his second over when he bowled a delivery outside the leg stump and Josh Inglis hit it to deep backward square-leg, where he was caught by Axar Patel. In the last over of the innings, the 26-year-old removed Marcus Stoinis, caught by Rinku Singh.

Arshdeep’s spell was instrumental in India’s victory by five wickets as they levelled the series 1-1.
