The International Cricket Council (ICC) is looking into possible action which can be taken against the Pakistan Cricket Board after several violations of norms during the ongoing Asia Cup.

According to a report of RevSportz, ICC officials are looking into violations of playing conditions and the PMOA (Player and Match Officials Area) rules. These include delaying the UAE vs Pakistan match, releasing a private match-referee video, and attempts to change the narrative of the incident.

It all started after the India-Pakistan match onSeptember 14. At the toss, India captain Suryakumar Yadav avoided the usual handshake with the opposition captain. After the victory, the Indian team headed straight to their dressing room without shaking hands with the Pakistan team. As a mark of protest,Pakistan captain Salman Agha skipped the postmatch presentation.

Pakistan filed a complaint, saying that not shaking hands was against the spirit of cricket. They also asked for referee Andy Pycroft to be removed from their games and even threatened to quit the tournament. Because of this, the UAE vs Pakistan match began an hour late.

Soon after, the PCB released a mute video that showed Salman, head coach Mike Hesson, and a PCB official speaking with Pycroft. PCB claimed that Pycroft was apologising, in the clip which has no audio. ICC sources believe that sharing this without sound was an attempt to spread a misleading information.

Officials are looking into PMOA breaches, which means no violation on the restricted areas meant only for players and officials.

India and Pakistan will meet again in the Super Four stage on September 21 (Sunday) at Dubai International Stadium.
