Pakistan batter Saim Ayub has shared his thoughts ahead of the India-Pakistan Asia Cup game on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium. He spoke about how his team is focused on their plans and they are looking forward for a strong performance not only from a few players but from whole team.
“Obviously, it’s a big match for the team and for the people, if we look at it from their perspective. But as a team, we don’t look at it like that. We try to follow the same process in all matches and focus on improving our execution. As a team, we trust and back each other. We don’t want just one or two players to perform. We want everyone to perform,” said Saim in the press conference ahead of the big clash.
Saim is an important part of the team, in his last game against Oman, he took two wickets for only eight runs in two overs. But with the bat, he was unable to make any impact as he lost his wicket in the first over.
In T20Is, he has scored 816 runs in 42 matches with an average of 21.47 and has a strike rate of 136.22. He also took 10 wickets with an economy rate of 7.00 in those matches.
In Group A, after defeating Oman, Pakistan are in second position on the points table with a NRR of +4.650. On the other hand, India hold the first spot with a brilliant NRR of +10.483.
