Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha has openly admitted his team’s flaws ahead of the high-voltage clash in the Asia Cup 2025 final against India. Pakistan have already lost twice against India in the tournament. They will be looking to bounce back on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters on the eve of the final, Agha reflected on those defeats and his own performance. “Humne India se zyada galtiyan ki hai isliye hum India se dono match haare (we lost both matches because we made more mistakes than India),” he said, accepting that Pakistan lost because of their own mistakes.
The captain also accepted that his personal performance has not been up to the mark. “I know my performance hasn’t been up to the level it should be, and I’m working on it. But you also have to consider conditions and team requirements. It’s not always about playing at a strike rate of 150. Sometimes, the situation or pitch doesn’t demand it,” he added.
Pakistan first faced India during the league stage, where Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets which restricted Pakistan to just 127runs. India chased that target in 15.5 overs. In the Super 4 match, Pakistan posted a total of 171/5 but still fell short. Abhishek Sharmamade 74 runs off 39 balls and Shubman Gill47 off 28. Their partnership of 105 in 10 overstook the game away from Pakistan. India wrapped up the chase in 18.5 overs with six wickets in hand.
India remain unbeaten so far while Pakistan have lost twice, against their arch-rivals. Thefans are set to witness the first ever India-Pakistan Asia Cup final on Sunday, at Dubai International Stadium.
