India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav added another milestone to his T20I career during the rain-hit first match against Australia, in Manuka Oval, Canberra. He has now become the fifth player in the history of T20I cricket to smash 150 sixes.

After hitting two massive sixes, Suryakumar reached the mark. He joined an elite list which includes players like Rohit Sharma, Muhammad Waseem, Martin Guptill and Jos Buttler. He is now the second Indian after Rohit to reach this mark. He reached this milestone in his 91st T20I innings.

Suryakumar walked out to bat after Abhishek Sharma’s early dismissal in the fourth over where he took a few balls to settle. Fast bowler Josh Hazlewood bowled some fine deliveries, but the India skipper soon smashed his first six of the game over square leg. After the fifth over, rain stopped the match for a while, but after the break, Suryakumar tonked his second six off Nathan Ellis’ delivery.

Before the rain washed out the match, India had scored 97 runs at the loss of one wicket in 9.4 overs. Suryakumar remained unbeaten on 39 runs from 24 balls at the strike rate of 162.50 and Shubman Gill on 37 off 20 at the strike rate of 185. Ellis was the only bowler who managed to get a wicket for Australia.
