Molina, Subhasish Call for Unity as Mohun Bagan Face East Bengal in Fiery IFA Shield Final
It’s rare to see a coach of either Kolkata giant urging fans to fill the stands, but this time, Mohun Bagan head coach Jose Molina did exactly that ahead of the much-anticipated derby. At the pre-match press conference, Molina appealed to the supporters, saying, “It doesn’t matter what you (fans) have done in the last games, or what you will do in the future, but at least on Saturday, come to the stadium and back the team.” In the last two IFA Shield matches, the Spaniard witnessed fans protesting against the management, still seeking answers for the club’s decision not…
The All India Football Federation has invited bids for the commercial rights of Indian football, setting a base annual fee of Rs 37.5 crore or 5% of total revenue — whichever is higher. FSDL, the previous rights holder, used to give Rs 50 crore per year. The agreement, to be valid for 15 years, will cover the federation’s top-tier league, which will feature 12 to 14 teams. The bidding process was officially announced on Thursday, a day after the Supreme Court’s deadline to complete the process. The AIFF’s move comes amid growing interest from stakeholders and questions from several ISL…
The 10 Indian Super League clubs have jointly expressed serious concern over the delay in the All India Football Federation’s tender process for appointing a new commercial partner, a process that was supposed to be completed by October 15, 2025, as per the commitment made to the Supreme Court. In a strongly-worded letter, addressed to the AIFF, the clubs highlighted that despite the Supreme Court’s directions, and a joint submission by the AIFF and Football Sports Development Limited, no tender document has been released. In addition to it, there hasn’t been any official communication on the next steps. The letter,…

A clinical England led by captain Harry Kane – along with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Senegal, Ivory Coast and South Africa – became the latest nation to book their tickets to next year’s FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Tuesday night’s fixtures across Europe, Asia and Africa confirmed their progress, marking decisive steps toward the 2026 showpiece event. England Make It Look Easy Thomas Tuchel’s England side cruised to qualification in emphatic fashion, dismantling Latvia 5-0 away in Riga to secure top spot in Group K with two games to spare. Kane led from the front with…
India’s hopes of qualifying for the AFC Asian Cup 2027 came to a disappointing end on Tuesday night, as they went down 1-2 to Singapore at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Margao. Despite a commanding start and constant attacking pressure, Khalid Jamil’s men failed to convert their dominance into goals, leaving their qualification campaign in tatters. Playing their first home qualifier under Jamil, India began with intensity and purpose. The coach had urged his players to “attack from the start,” and his team responded well in the opening exchanges. The Blue Tigers pressed high, moved the ball swiftly, and stretched Singapore’s…
Goa is all set to witness the return of the Indian senior men’s football team after eight long years, as the Blue Tigers take on Singapore in their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 Qualifiers Group C match at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Madgaon, on Tuesday. The match will be India’s first appearance in the coastal state since 2017, and it comes at a critical juncture in their qualifying campaign. India’s AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualification hopes took a serious hit as the Blue Tigers were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Singapore at the National Stadium on Tuesday night. Despite Rahim Ali’s late equaliser rescuing a point, the result left more questions than answers — about India’s intent, team selection, and tactical approach under head coach Khalid Jamil. The night began with promise but soon descended into frustration. Knowing that anything less than a win would damage their hopes of reaching a third straight Asian Cup, India played without urgency or attacking structure. For most of the first…
As India resume their AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifying campaign on Thursday with an away fixture against Singapore, one key question looms — can the Blue Tigers make it to the continental showpiece for a historic third successive time? The task, however, is steep. India have collected only one point from their first two matches — a goalless draw against Bangladesh followed by a 1-0 loss to Hong Kong. With four matches remaining, every fixture has now turned into a must-win for Khalid Jamil’s side. Yet, optimism remains. The team’s spirited third-place finish in the CAFA Nations Cup last month,…
