When I first launched Backstage With Boria, Ageas Federal Life Insurance was the brand that supported the show. It was December 2021, and the first episode that we recorded in Kolkata was with Sourav Ganguly.
It was only fitting that we celebrated three successful years of Backstage With Boria at the Trailblazers Conclave by doing an hour-long session with Ganguly. With the auditorium packed to capacity, it was indeed a highlight of the conclave. Ganguly was witty and candid. He was straightforward and opinionated. The audience lapped up every bit of it, and the session was a roaring success.
Sample this. “When India loses, and Rohit and Virat don’t score I keep my phone away,” said Ganguly to bursts of laughter. “I know journalists will call and keep asking me when will they retire. How do I know the answer to this?! It’s best to leave the phone in another room. But when India wins, I keep the phone with me because I know I will get to answer some good questions. That’s why when India wins the Champions Trophy, I will keep the phone with me between 10am and 5pm and answer all media calls!”

The session ended with Jude Gomes, Managing Director and CEO of Ageas Federal Life Insurance, felicitating Ganguly on stage and also announcing their continued support for Backstage With Boria going forward.
The next season of the show is all set to start on March 20 with a special IPL podcast building up to the start of India’s only global sports league, which starts on March 22.
Watch out this space as we announce details of the season in the next few days.
