Pakistan beat Bangladesh in the third T20I by a big margin of 74 runs at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, thanks to Sahibzada Farhan’s brilliant knock and Salman Mirza’s outstanding bowling.
Bangladesh won the toss and put Pakistan in to bat first. Pakistan got off to a great start as their openers put on 82 runs for the first wicket. After that, the only significant 41-run partnership came from Mohammad Nawaz and captain Salman Agha. Farhan was the highest scorer for Pakistan with 63 runs off 41 balls at a strike rate of 153.66. His innings included six fours and five sixes. For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed took 3/38 in his quota of four overs as Pakistan finished with 178/7 in 20 overs.
Chasing the target, Bangladesh had a very poor start, losing their first wicket on the second ball of the innings. After that, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals, with no batter sticking around to build a partnership. Pakistan bowlers maintained constant pressure. Mirza took three important wickets, removing Bangladesh opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim in the first over. He then broke the backbone of the Bangladesh innings by dismissing Jaker Ali and Mahedi Hasan in the same over — both bowled.
Mirza finished with figures of 3/20 in his four overs at an economy rate of 5.00 as Bangladesh were bundled out for 104 in 16.4 overs. Farhan was adjudged the Player of the Match for his brilliant innings. However, Bangladesh lost the opportunity of a clean sweep but won the series 2–1. Jaker Ali was named the Player of the Series.
