West Indies defeated Bangladesh by five wickets in the last T20I in Chattogram, to whitewash the hosts, 3-0.
Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first. Tanzid Hasan Tamim was the lone bright spot in the whole innings as nine of the eleven batters could not even touch a two-digit score.
The 24-year-old batter stitched a partnership of 63 runs with Saif Hassan that was instrumental in taking Bangladesh to a respectable total of 151. Tanzid started his innings with two back-to-back fours in the first over from Jason Holder. After that, he paced his innings in a mature way and punished any loose ball that came his way. He reached his fifty in the eleventh over and was dismissed in the first ball of the 20th over. The left-hander scored 89 off 62 balls, including nine fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 143.55. For West Indies, Romario Shepherd took three wickets.
In reply, West Indies had a poor start losing Alick Athanaze when their score was just six. Captain Roston Chase and Ackeem Auguste held the innings firmly and put on a partnership of 91 runs, that not only provided the solidity in the innings but also was instrumental in their victory. Both Chase and Auguste scored 50 each. For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain took three wickets. Chase was named the Player of the Match while Shepherd was declared the Player of the Series.
