The newly inaugurated room is titled ‘10000 Gavaskar’, commemorating the legendary cricketer’s landmark achievement of becoming the first player in history to score 10,000 runs in Test cricket.

The honour was unveiled on Thursday in a special ceremony attended by BCCI President Roger Binny, Vice-President Rajeev Shukla, and Secretary Devajit Saikia. A video shared by the BCCI captured the emotional moment as a visibly moved Gavaskar thanked the cricketing fraternity and fans for their unwavering support.
“MCA is my mother, BCCI is my father, thank you so much, really appreciate, the opportunities that I have got to be what I am. Thanks to Indian Cricket and this honour is a huge honour, so I am very very thankful to BCCI for this honour, and I would give it my all for BCCI, so any time anything required of me even at this age please feel free,” Gavaskar said during the ceremony.
