Ahead of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, Australia Women will travel to India. BCCI Women have confirmed that a three-match ODI series will be played at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The three ODIs are scheduled to take place on 14, 17, and 20 September 2025, and all the matches will be played from 1:30 pm IST.
Hence, ahead of the mega event in India, it will be a great opportunity for both teams to see their strengths and weaknesses. However, India recently won the Tri-Nation ODI series in Sri Lanka, defeating South Africa and Sri Lanka. In the final, they defeated the hosts and kicked off their World Cup preparation in some style.

Now, their focus has shifted to the upcoming tour of England, where they are scheduled to play five T20Is followed by a three-match ODI series. The tour is scheduled from 28 June to 22 July. However, when it comes to the India vs Australia rivalry in Women’s ODIs, the Aussies have shown clear domination over the years. In 56 WODIs so far, they have won 46 times, while India have won only 10 times.
In India also, the Aussies have won on 20 occasions compared to India’s four wins in a total of 24 ODI encounters. Last time Australia came to India, they won the three-match T20I series 2-1 and the three-match ODI series 3-0, while losing the one-off Test. Hence, ahead of the upcoming home World Cup, India’s aim must be to improve the overall record and to come up with improved performances in front of the home crowd.
