Senior India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has finally reacted to being out of the national team. The paceman said that his only goal is to perform on the field, and it is for the selectors to take a call on whether he can still make it to the Indian side.

“Aapko iska uttar chayanakarta denge (Only the selectors can answer that),” he told Dainik Jagran. “My job is to give 100 percent on the field, and I’m doing that. If I get a chance to play for Uttar Pradesh in the Mushtaq Ali, Ranji, or One-Day formats after the UP league, I will give my best there too.”

It has been almost three years since Bhuvneshwar found himself out of the Indian team. He last represented India on November 22, 2022, in a T20I match against New Zealand, in Napier.

Bhuvneshwar further said that sometimes destiny is not on his side. “As a disciplined bowler, my focus remains on fitness and line (and) length. No matter how well you perform, sometimes luck doesn’t favour you.”

Bhuvneshwar has had a fine international career. He played 21 Test matches for India, taking 63 wickets with his best bowling figures turning out to be 6/82 in an innings. In ODIs, he took 141 wickets in 121 matches with his best being 5/42. He also represented India in 87 T20Is, taking 90 wickets. He is currently playing for the Lucknow Falcons in the UP T20 league.
