Boys making my job easy: Suryakumar after India’s win against Pakistan

India continued their winning streak in the Asia Cup. In the Super Four match against Pakistan in Dubai, they won by six wickets. Chasing a target of 172, India were home with seven balls to spare.

After the match, captain Suryakumar Yadav said how impressed he was with his team,which makes is his job easy. The way the boys are stepping up in every game, it’s making my job very easy. The boys showed a lot of character. They were calm after the first 10 overs (of India’s bowling). After drinks, I told them the game starts now.

Jasprit Bumrah had a rare bad day. Surya stood by him. “That’s fine, he’s not a robot. He will have a bad day someday. (Shivam) Dube bailed us out of the situation.

Surya praised the opening combination of Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma. They complement each other really well. It’s like a fire and ice combination.

Though the captain himself couldn’t contribute any run, Abhishek hammered 74 from 39 balls. Gill made 47, while Tilak Varma finished with an unbeaten 30.

Earlier, Dube took two important wickets, while Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav got one each.

India will play their next Super Four match against Bangladesh on Wednesday (September 24) at the Dubai International Stadium.
