Breaking: Govt Issues Advisory Against Inviting Anti-India Commentators from Pakistan

The Ministry’s advisory to Media

In light of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has issued an advisory to media channels against inviting ‘Anti-India Commentators’ to Indian platforms. The Ministry has raised concerns over Pakistani commentators.

The advisory urged editors and broadcasters to ‘refrain from featuring individuals who undermine India’s sovereignty, integrity, or national security’.

Along with the advisory, news broadcasters and digital platforms have been asked to share the advisory internally in order to tighten information security and maintain national unity in the face of hostile misinformation.

The advisory read:

“In view of the recent attack on tourists in Pahalgam, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has drawn our attention to channels inviting anti-India commentators from Pakistan in their programme(s) who propagate false propaganda against India. Editors of NBDA are advised to refrain from inviting panellists, speakers, and commentators from Pakistan in their programme(s), who are known for espousing views that undermine the sovereignty, integrity, and security of the nation and speak against our country. Editors are requested to exercise a high level of editorial discretion and judgment to ensure that channels/ digital platforms are not misused for anti-India false propaganda. To ensure compliance, the Advisory may be circulated to all concerned editorial personnel.”
