Jasprit Bumrah, India’s frontline fast bowler, will be absent for the second ODI of the ongoing three-match series against Australia in Indore on September 24. The reason for his absence is a short break to spend time with his family, a decision supported by the team management and confirmed by the BCCI.
The BCCI has also confirmed that Bumrah will rejoin the team for the third and final ODI in Rajkot, ensuring his temporary absence does not disrupt the team’s plans. To fill the void left by Bumrah, fast bowler Mukesh Kumar has been called up as his replacement. The absence of Bumrah opens up opportunities for other bowlers, including Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna.
India currently lead the series 1-0 after securing a five-wicket victory in the first ODI, and they will aim to maintain their winning momentum in Bumrah’s absence.
