Bengal’s Richa Ghosh, who played a key role in India’s triumph at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, will be felicitated by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) at a grand ceremony at Eden Gardens on Saturday, November 8. She will receive a specially designed gold-plated bat and ball featuring the signatures of Sourav Ganguly and Jhulan Goswami for her outstanding performance in the tournament.

Richa’s fiery 34 off 24 balls was crucial in taking India to 298/7 in the final against South Africa. She was one of the pillars of India’s batting lineup, scoring 235 runs in eight matches at an average of 39.16, becoming India’s fifth-highest run-scorer. Her strike rate of 133.52 was the highest in the tournament.

CAB president Sourav Ganguly said in a release, “Richa has shown remarkable talent, composure, and fighting spirit on the world stage. Honouring her with this gold bat and ball is a small token of our recognition for her extraordinary contribution to Indian cricket. She is an inspiration for every young cricketer in Bengal and across the country.”

The 22-year-old smashed 12 sixes during the tournament; equalling West Indies’ Deandra Dottin’s record for the most sixes in a single edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup.
