India all-rounder Sneh Rana has praised young bowler N. Shree Charani for her strong performance during India’s tour of England. In the absence of key bowlers Renuka Singh Thakur and Pooja Vastrakar, Charani stepped up and impressed everyone with her skill and confidence.
In the recently concluded five-match T20I series, which India won 3-2, Charani stood out by taking 10 wickets and consistently troubling the English batters. Her efforts were a key part of India’s bowling strength throughout the series.
Even in the ongoing ODI series, Charani has continued to impress. With the series now tied at 1-1 ahead of the decider, Sneh Rana was full of admiration for the young spinner. “Charani is a really great bowler. She has performed very well in the domestic season and in the WPL. Her specialty is the number of revolutions she puts on the ball. It is fantastic to see,” Rana said.
Talking more about Charani’s bowling action and understanding of the game, Rana added, “She has a high arm action. Whenever she comes to bowl, it always feels like she will take a wicket immediately. She has a good knowledge of her skills, so it feels good to have a conversation with her.”
Rana also acknowledged the difference in experience between domestic and international levels but pointed out that Charani’s background in domestic cricket is helping her adapt. “In terms of international cricket, I would say there is less experience. But otherwise, they have got a lot of experience in domestic cricket.”
Now, once again, all eyes will be on Charani as Team India gets ready to face England in the ODI series decider, set to take place later today at Chester-le-Street.
