Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting showered praises on Zak Crawley for his remarkable performance in the 4th Test of the Ashes in Manchester.
The England opener played an outstanding innings, scoring a century in just 93 balls, his first in the Ashes series. Crawley’s impressive knock of 189 runs off 182 balls featured three sixes and 21 boundaries.
“Crawley’s ball-striking was outstanding. I think a lot of people around English cricket have known what he is capable of. Yes, it has probably been a bit lean here and there but Stokes wants to pick people with special things ahead of them and what Crawley has produced here is very special,” Ricky Ponting told Sky Sports.
With his sublime knock, the Kent player has become the leading run-scorer in Ashes with 385 runs in seven innings so far.
