Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by five wickets in the 43rd match at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on April 26.

SRH’s Bowling
SRH bowlers put on a solid show at Chepauk. Except for Zeeshan Ansari, everyone contributed with wickets. Harshal Patel was the star of the show with his 4/28 at an economy rate of 7.00. Jaydev Unadkat and captain Pat Cummins also chipped in with a couple of wickets each.
Harshal took the wickets of Sam Curran, Dewald Brevis, MS Dhoni, and Noor Ahmed. Mohammad Shami gave a dream start to CSK by removing Shaik Rasheed on the first ball of the innings. Cummins removed Ayush Mhatre and Anshul Kamboj, while Unadkat dismissed two middle-order batters—Shivam Dube and Deepak Hooda.
Kamindu Mendis’ stunning catch
Dewald Brevis was in brilliant touch and looked dangerous after hitting four sixes. But just as he tried to go for another off Harshal Patel, Kamindu Mendis took a stunning catch at long-off—arguably the catch of the tournament. It was a turning point in the CSK innings, as the collapse began from there, with the next five wickets falling for just 40 runs.

Ishan Kishan’s Second Life
Ishan Kishan was the highest scorer in SRH’s innings with 44 runs. However, he got a lifeline early—on the fifth ball of the third over—when Dewald Brevis dropped him at cover-point. With one wicket already down, had that catch been taken, SRH’s innings might have taken a very different turn.
