The last group-stage match of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 is set to take place on October 26, with India facing Bangladesh at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Harmanpreet Kaur and her team have already sealed a semi-final berth and currently sit fourth on the table with six points from three wins and three losses, holding a net run rate of +0.628. Bangladesh, on the other hand, are at the bottom of the standings with one win from six matches and a net run rate of -0.578.

For Bangladesh, this is an opportunity to end their campaign on a high note and avoid finishing last. For India, the focus will be on gaining more confidence and rhythm before the semi-final against defending champions Australia on October 30 at the same venue.

Current Form

India

India have won three of their six matches so far. They started strongly with victories over Sri Lanka and Pakistan, but then suffered three consecutive defeats against South Africa, Australia, and England. However, in their last outing, India bounced back in style, beating New Zealand. That result was enough to confirm their place in the semi-final, even before this Bangladesh clash.

Bangladesh

Bangladesh have managed only one win so far, against Pakistan. But their record does not truly reflect the spirit and fight they have shown throughout the tournament. They were in strong positions to beat South Africa, England, and Sri Lanka, but a few costly mistakes in the field and a lack of composure in pressure moments led to narrow defeats. A win against India would lift them to four points and help them avoid finishing at the bottom of the table.

Players to Watch

India

Pratika Rawal

The young opener is coming into this game full of confidence after scoring her maiden ODI World Cup century against New Zealand. She had been criticised earlier for struggling to rotate the strike and for not converting starts into big scores. But her century silenced all doubts. In six innings so far, Pratika has scored 308 runs at an average of 51.33, making her the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament. She will look to carry her form into this game and the semi-final ahead.

Jemimah Rodrigues

Jemimah Rodrigues finally made her mark in the tournament with a brilliant unbeaten 76 against New Zealand. After being dropped against England, she returned to the XI and was promoted to No. 3, a move that paid off instantly. Her fluent knock helped India post a massive total of 340/3. Jemimah’s form in the middle order could be crucial for India as they head into the knockouts.

Bangladesh

Nigar Sultana Joty

Skipper Nigar Sultana Joty will once again be key for Bangladesh, both as a leader and as a batter. After scoring just 71 runs in her first five innings, she returned to form with a fighting 77 against Sri Lanka. Her dismissal at a crucial moment, however, led to a heartbreaking seven-run defeat. Joty has led her side with grit, and she will hope to inspire one last strong performance against the hosts.

Marufa Akter

The 20-year-old pacer has been one of Bangladesh’s brightest sparks in this World Cup. Marufa Akter has taken six wickets in five innings at an economy of 6.27. Her sharp in-swingers with the new ball have troubled top-order batters, especially from Pakistan and England. With India’s openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal in fine form, Marufa will once again be key to Bangladesh’s hopes of an early breakthrough.
