Former Australian cricketer and 2016 IPL-winning captain, David Warner, has predicted that Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will win the IPL 2025 title. During a Q&A session with fans on the social media platform X (previously Twitter) on Saturday, May 31, Warner also predicted Josh Hazlewood as the Player of the Match for the final.
When asked by a fan about his prediction for the IPL 2025 final, Warner replied, “I think RCB and Josh Hazlewood man of the match.” Josh Hazlewood was acquired by RCB in the 2025 mega auction for ₹12.5 crore.
Despite missing some of the league matches due to a shoulder injury, Hazlewood made a strong comeback and took three wickets while conceding only 21 runs in Qualifier 1. He now has 21 wickets in 11 matches and has been one of the major reasons behind RCB’s success so far.
Former Indian batter Aakash Chopra praised Hazlewood’s fearless return: “He had come after an injury… He said ‘Forget that, I will do it,”said Chopra on his YouTube channel.
