Day two of India’s practice session at Beckenham was a light workload day as the team eased into rhythm through the early days of this long tour. While the workload was light, it did not have many standout moments, it was a slow morning.

The main bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Shardul Thakur, were all rested today. The nets felt a little calmer without the heavy spells. Karun Nair looked in good touch. He batted in the nets ahead of the intra squad game and was also slotted into the slip codron as he participated in slip-catching drills.

India’s vice captain, Rishabh Pant didn’t bat today. Instead, he kept wickets for a decent stretch. He looked comfortable. All rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy didn’t bowl, but got some time with the bat, looked relaxed and focused. KL Rahul kept his pads off; he was out doing sprints and short runs, more fitness than batting. He seemed light on his feet, which is always a good sign.

Towards the end, Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Reddy, and Ravindra Jadeja batted to finish things off. Just smooth rotations through the nets, nothing too intense. Earlier, Gill and Jaiswal were the first to bat. The duo batted in separate nets, but they warmed up together, shared a few conversations, then got down to work.

The day had started with some fielding – Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, Jadeja and Reddy practiced taking high and sharp catches.
