Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat Delhi Capitals (DC) by 14 runs in the 48th match of IPL 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi
Here are the top three highlights from today’s DC vs KKR clash in the IPL 2025
Sunil Narine’s effective bowling in the 14th over
At the beginning of the 14th over, DC were 130/3 and looked set to win the match. But then came the old warhorse, Sunil Narine. Despite being hit for a six on the first ball, he took two important wickets in that over. Narine first got Axar Patel, who was going well until that point, and then bowled Tristan Stubbs, who can take any game away on his day. That was the turning point of the match. Varun Chakaravarthy, the other KKR spinner, also bowled well and took back-to-back wickets. Narine finished with figures of 3/29, while Varun ended with 2/39.
KKR’s strong batting performance
KKR maintained a good run rate throughout the innings. They got off to a great start, and almost every batter contributed. KKR scored 79 runs in the powerplay, which was 15–20 runs more than expected. Even DC captain Axar Patel pointed that out after the match: “I think how the wicket was and how we bowled in the powerplay, we gave away 15-20 runs too many.”
KL Rahul’s run-out
Rahul has been in fantastic form this year and could have had a great impact today, but he was run out before he could make a difference. That was one of the biggest moments of the match that came in the seventh over of the DC innings. He scored just seven runs.
