Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Delhi Capitals (DC) by 12 runs in the 29th match of IPL 2025. Karn Sharma was the star with the ball for MI, taking three wickets. After coming as an impact player, he managed to bowl superbly in the middle overs and with those three wickets, he was eventually named the Player of the Match.
MI skipper Hardik Pandya played a masterstroke by bringing in right-arm leg-spinner Karn Sharma as an Impact Player in place of Rohit Sharma. While chasing 206, DC were 113/1 in 10 overs with both set batters, Abhishek Porel and Karun Nair in the middle. After conceding nine runs in his first over, Karn got smacked for a six again on the first delivery of the 11th over.

But, on the very next delivery, he dismissed Porel and broke the partnership of 119 runs. Then, he took two more big wickets in the form of KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs. Mitchell Santner also played a huge supporting role for him at the other end as both spinners picked up five wickets in total in eight overs. Finally, Karn finished with figures of 3/36 from his four overs and was adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant spell.
During the post-match presentation, Karn said: “It feels good that the hard work I have put it, now whenever I get the chance I want to make the most of it. I just want to focus on my process and the rest is not in my hands. I think KL Rahul’s wicket was the game-changing one.”
