Defending champions Korea arrived in Bihar on Sunday night ahead of the much-anticipated Hero Men’s Asia Cup Rajgir, Bihar 2025, set to run from 29th August to 7th September.

Led by captain Jongsuk Bae, the five-time champions are the most decorated nation in the history of the tournament. Their last triumph came in Jakarta in 2022, where they edged Malaysia 2-1 in a gripping final. Currently ranked 13th in the FIH World Rankings, Korea will be determined to extend their dominance in Asia.

Placed in Pool B, Korea begin their campaign against Chinese Taipei on 29th August, followed by a key clash with Malaysia on 30th August and a final group-stage encounter with Bangladesh on 1st September.

Speaking on arrival, captain Bae praised the warm welcome in Rajgir, calling the hospitality “heartwarming and special.” Looking ahead, he admitted defending the title would be no easy task but vowed his team would “play with full commitment and fighting spirit.”

With a World Cup berth also at stake, Bae emphasised that the team is determined to turn pressure into motivation: “We will give our absolute best on the field and hope to end the tournament on a very positive note.”
