Day 3 of Denmark Open 2025 at the Jyske Bank Arena in Odense saw the Indians dominate the courts. They eased past their opponents and stormed into the quarterfinals.

In men’s singles, Lakshya Sen caused a major upset by smashing past world No. 2 and local favourite Anders Antonsen 21-13, 21-14. Sen, who has been in the top 10 in the past, is ranked 21st at the moment.

The destructive men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also finished their match in straight games. They beat Chinese Taipei’s Lee Jhe-Huei and Yang Po Hsuan 21-19, 21-17 in 41 minutes.

The mixed doubles pair of Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto gave a walkover to China’s Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping.

Competing against crowd favourite Antonsen, Sen sealed the deal in 53 minutes. Both games saw the Indian dominate the court with better deception, sharp net exchanges and swift returns.

In the first game Sen raced to an early lead. He was up 11-6 at the interval and comfortably closed out the game. The initial phase of the second game was competitive, with both shuttlers exchanging points in a neck-and-neck battle. At 12-13, Sen pressed the accelerator, winning seven consecutive points to clinch the match in style.

Entering the tournament as the sixth-seeded pair, Satwik and Chirag had to work harder in comparison. The World Championship bronze medallists face Indonesia’s Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Rahmat Hidayat in the quarterfinals.
