South Africa have announced a revamped 14-player squad for the upcoming T20I tri-series in Zimbabwe. Rassie van der Dussen will lead the side, with dynamic batter Dewald Brevis making his return to the national setup.

Four players have earned their maiden T20I call-ups: top-order batters Lhuan-dré Pretorius and Rubin Hermann, all-rounder Corbin Bosch, and left-arm spinner Senuran Muthusamy.

Pretorius and Hermann impressed during the 2025 SA20 with the Paarl Royals. Pretorius topped the tournament run charts with 397 runs at a strike rate exceeding 166, while Hermann piled up 333 runs at 41.43 and a strike rate of 128.08.

Muthusamy is one of three spinners included in the squad, alongside George Linde and youngster Nqaba Peter. Bosch, who already has international experience in ODIs and Tests, was key to MI Cape Town’s maiden SA20 title win, bagging 11 wickets in eight matches.

Senior players rested: Conrad

“This tri-series is the first step in our build-up to the 2026 T20 World Cup,” said head coach Shukri Conrad. “With several senior players being rested as part of their workload management, this is a great opportunity for others to step up and make a strong case for World Cup selection.

“Lhuan-dré and Rubin have earned their places with outstanding domestic form in the SA20, and we’re eager to see how they transition to international cricket. Corbin has proven himself in other formats, and we’re looking forward to seeing how his skills translate in T20Is.”

South Africa will open their tri-series campaign against Zimbabwe on 14 July at Harare Sports Club.
