
The Dream Sports Championship (DSC) Table Tennis U-15 Tournament wrapped up at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Badminton Stadium after five days of high-octane action, featuring some of India’s most promising young paddlers. The tournament also saw participation from 12 international players representing six federations, adding to the competitive edge.
Beyond the matches, the event offered unique learning experiences through masterclasses and workshops. Table tennis legend Sharath Kamal praised the initiative, stating, “It holistically looked at improving the grassroots level with workshops for players, coaches, and parents.” Olympians Sharath and Sreeja Akula conducted sessions alongside nutritionists and conditioning experts, helping bridge knowledge gaps in the ecosystem.
The Dream Again initiative’s educational workshops aimed to equip parents and coaches with insights into the physical and psychological challenges young athletes face. Shri J Meghanatha Reddy, Member Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, lauded the tournament’s impact and assured continued support.
On the final day, Indian team head coach Massimo Costantini shared invaluable technical insights with the young paddlers during a closing masterclass, shaping their future growth.
On the court, Sahil Rawat clinched the Boys’ title, while Divyanshi Bhowmick emerged victorious in the Girls’ category. The event not only celebrated rising stars but also empowered them with knowledge, making it a holistic sporting success.
