Duleep Trophy 2025: Patidar smashes ton for Central against North East

Central Zone captain Rajat Patidar smashed a century on Day 1 of the Duleep Trophy quarter-final against the North East Zone. He scored 125 runs in 96 balls with 21 fours and three sixes.

In first-class cricket prior to this, Patidar had made 4,738 runs in 68 matches with 13 centuries and 24 half-centuries.

Patidar came in to bat in the place of Aryan Juyal, who had retired hurt. The opener had made 60 off 100 balls before getting hit in the abdomen.

With Danish Malewar, another player who made a century, Patidar shared a partnership of 177 runs. Together they plundered the bowling of the weakest team of the competition. In the 66th over, he was finally dismissed by Pheiroijam Jotin.

Malewar was not out on 198. His 219-ball innings contained 35 fours and one six. Yash Rathod was unbeaten on 32. Central Zone’s total was 432/2. The winners of this match will qualify for the semi-finals.
