Emami East Bengal FC have secured the services of promising centre-back Martand Raina from Rajasthan United FC on a three-year contract. The 24-year-old defender, who impressed in the 2024-25 I-League season, will wear jersey number 16 for the Red & Gold Brigade.

A towering presence at the back, Raina stood out for his consistency and attacking contributions in the I-League. He made 21 appearances last season, clocked 1,766 minutes, and netted four goals—becoming the highest-scoring centre-back in the competition.

Welcoming Raina to the club, East Bengal’s Head of Football, Thangboi Singto, said, “Raina is a key addition to our squad as we aim to solidify our defense and build a competitive team. His consistency caught our eye and we believe he’s ready for the next level.”

Head Coach Oscar Bruzon echoed the sentiment, noting, “Raina was one of the most effective and consistent performers in the I-League. His signing will strengthen our backline and increase competition for starting positions.”

Raina, who previously played in Bengal with Adamas United, is eager to begin his new chapter. “It’s an honour to join a club with such a rich history. I look forward to contributing to East Bengal’s success and making the fans proud,” he said.

His arrival is expected to bring greater depth and resilience to East Bengal’s defence as the club prepares for the upcoming ISL season under Bruzon’s guidance.
